Ms. Horn's 6th Grade science class had the opportunity to work our local Oregon Fish and Wildlife Office last week to release tagged ducks into the island wetland. Even our fabulous bus driver Doug got to send off a duck!

It's a rare sight to have our entire SPED team all in one place! They are usually spread throughout the school supporting students in the classrooms and all school environments. Thanks to Ms. Sprute, Ms. Mollie, Ms. Rask and our district SPED director Whitney Hessong for all you do.

SIS Family & Friends, In preparation for the start of school, Chef Brodie placed our food order from our regular vendor and was notified that all the vegetables he needed for the salad bar were "out of stock." We know many SIS families and friends have gardens, and we hope you might be able to donate some vegetables to the school. Chef is looking for lettuce/greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. If you have vegetable donations, please bring them to the Welcome Back BBQ on Wednesday, August 30th, at 5:30 PM. If you cannot make it to the BBQ, you are welcome to drop off vegetable donations at the school on Thursday, August 31st, between 8 AM and 4 PM. Thank you in advance for all your help and support! We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon. SIS

Attn: SIS 6th-8th Grade Families, SIS students in grades 6th-8th are invited to participate in athletics at Scappoose Middle School. This is a great opportunity for our students and we encourage them to consider participating. The following options are available this fall: 6th - 8th grades: Cross Country & Dance (fees apply) 7th - 8th grades: Football & Volleyball Transportation to the Middle School: In the afternoons, SIS students can ride the PM shuttle buses from SIS to the middle school, arriving before practices begin. In addition, we are able to provide busing to the middle school on “away” competition days, when it is necessary for the athletes to depart early from the middle school. Please be aware parents are still responsible for picking up their athlete(s) after practices and competitions at the middle school. Parents always have the option to contact each other to organize carpooling if necessary. If your student is interested in participating please follow the link below. https://scappooseschooldistrict.rankonesport.com/New/NewInstructionsPage.aspx SIS Staff
