8th grade project

[[The following is information for an 8th grade student service-related project. It is not a school fundraiser]]

Portland Tennis & Education (PT&E), home of the St. Johns’ Racquet Center, is hosting a Cinco De Mayo round robin pickleball tournament on May 5th, 2024 produced by Jonah Lucey, a student from Sauvie Island School, in partnership with PT&E to put on this fundraising event for his 8th grade project.

Tournament fees benefit PT&E, a nonprofit organization offering academic support, tennis and athletic enrichment, life skills and mental health support, and family resources to K-12th grade students enrolled in after school and summer programs. They are dedicated to the academic success and lifelong health of Portland youth, supporting them in becoming well-rounded learners, lifelong athletes, and global citizens.

There will be three sessions throughout the day on Sunday, May 5th. The morning session will go from 10am-12pm and be women's 3.5, the midday session will be mixed open play from 12pm-2pm, it will be a little bit more relaxed. The afternoon session will go from 2pm-4pm and be men’s 3.5.

Registration is $45 dollars per player, all proceeds will go to PT&E’s After School and Summer Programs and future events.
