In the Classroom

Kindergarten Updates with Mrs. V

During the month of May, our class had two fun field trips. We visited Columbia Farms to learn about beekeeping and peony farming and also visited the Sauvie Island Center to learn about pollinators. In our classroom, we planted sunflower and pumpkin seeds and have been keeping plant journals to document the changes we observed. The class has been enjoying writing words with digraphs outside with sidewalk chalk, practicing proofreading sentences, and solving addition and subtraction story problems. It's been fun to watch the students grow as readers, writers, and mathematicians this Spring!

3rd Grade Updates with Ms. Francis

In third grade, we are busy bees! We are working on getting our pollinator flower starts going, after releasing our Painted Ladies into the Native Plant area behind fourth and fifth grade. Third grade went on an awesome field trip hosted by Pat Willis to the Gorge.

We are also in the middle of our bridges unit before we head on our big field trip on June 15th! It's been an exciting few weeks.

Middle School Updates with Ms. Horn

7th grade is working on their final math book for the year and making quick progress!

8th grade is working on their display boards for their 8th grade projects, they will be shown during the 8th Grade Evening of Achievements on Monday evening, June 12th at 6pm. We would love to see you there!

6th grade has started to study soil. They did a wonderful job with their Tom's Tree project last week, please enjoy the pictures attached! I'm so proud of them!
